I'm trying to figure out which of my racing comrades is posing as a French woman. Not that easy to narrow down.

For someone, ID'ed as 'Racers Anonymous', to question the gender and legitimacy of a fellow member motor car racer...is beyond humourous, and its' irony does not escape me. Transport your derrière here, to Syria, and solve your doubts...and mine vis a vie, your identity ! You can entitle your adventure, "THE GRANDE FACT FINDING MISSION". wink
Oh, and do stop badgering your Yankee racing comrades. They'll begin suspecting you as odd.

I am shocked , Am I to understand people are being forced to read posts against there will? If that ins't true then they must be reading them for some reason. And in that case they have no one to blame but themselves for their curiosity. And such defamatory comments about me, I don't think I maligned Tony [or any one else] in any way personally, just the way he is running SVRA. Which I will continue to do from time to time.
But I will now head to the garage and lick my wounds and work on my car harder , I don't want to disappoint hoffman again.

LOL, I know a few people who would say Rick has no sense of humor, but I have seen it before on rare occasions, and know it exist, and this comment proves it smile

Go get em at your next race.

A similar sentiment once was oft-voiced by an AH3000 racer at Meadowdale International Raceway (so you can see how far back it was). who believed that a heroic amount of the quaffing should be carried out BEFORE the contest/before the start-flag was displayed...that only then would everyone show their TRUE Racing Skill, Deligence and, what he called, "Competitive Courtesy".
Also, he surmised, there would then be less fights after the events, which often there were, as many participants honed their skills on the dirt ovals of the Mid West 'fore taking to 'the Sporty Cars'.
His was a dream that, seemingly, no one in practice could (publicly) fall-in with.

It has been a long time since I have been here. I have been busy racing SCCA.lol I am going to the runoffs in my 240z. I wanted race VIR and INDY and the opportunity came up this season.

Interesting response from Tony via Rick Parent.
Since Tony likes to read some comments I will add in my 2 cents worth.
The idea of SVRA creating a nation wide vintage series was a cool idea.
I liked the idea, but just like the doomed Bobby Rahal program, it isn't going to work (at least the way he envisioned it.)That would be, all High end cars paying big dollars and doing lots of races across the United States.
2 major problems with that business plan. There is not enough of those cars in each area of the United States. Those people that own the cars are very busy and cannot dedicate a whole season to moving cars from event to event.
Did that happen in the old days? Absolutely, they were professional racers and usually sponsored and that was their job.It still happens today in professional racing. That leaves SVRA doing events at Marque tracks like Indy, Watkins Glen etc. That is a natural for SVRA. Destination tracks that people want to go to at least once, or maybe more than once. They will pay the big money for those tracks.
Lets move onto Spec Miata. That has potential, but it will be years in the building phase. Regular Spec Miata racers, know that SCCA is the best game in town. Those drivers are not going to downgrade and come run vintage. The idea that low turnout in California was because SCCA had a Double Major 2 weeks before is ridiculous. If that is believed by SVRA management they need to look at the metrics. Their cars don't fit the group anyway. Vintage Spec Miata racers will have to be "homegrown" by the vintage community. The new racers will buy a series 1 Miata and start racing and learning the craft. SVRA does make it enticing as does Mazda corporate to go out and buy one of those cars and get on the track. If they keep the prices down as low as they are, I might put my son in one of those. That is some budget seat time there.
So is SVRA going to go out of business? Nah, but there business plan has chased away certain cars and drivers for sure. But you need to break a few eggs to make a omelette right?
Cheers,
Steve

No disappointment here, it's your money.

I'd like to see you do well to be honest.
