Thought you guys might enjoy this...

Saturday race:

Drying conditions. TR4 fast lap: 1:36.560, Lotus fast lap: 1:35.632

Sunday race:

Dry condtions. TR4 fast lap: 1:34:365 , Lotus fast lap: 1.34.175. Average speed ~86mph. Both turn their fastest lap on lap 4 (5:20 in)

Both drivers here are FLYING. FYI: Kyle had a pole at the Runoffs (over Sargis no less) in 2016 and a 2nd place finish - he's very good.

This car has won at the old Vineland Speedway with Dick and Buzz Marcus behind the wheel, so that's pretty cool.

In-car from Todd Reid's Lotus..

Lotus Saturday Race
Lotus Sunday race

Enjoy!

It's lonely up front smile Thanks for sharing Bob. Good to see someone driving that car, it's too good of car to not be raced. Did Dick sell it, or just letting other folks drive it.

Hey Hap,

Dick still owns it and does all engine building, just at 85yo, he's taking a slight step back. He raced it at PittRace in the beginning of the month. Never on that track before, and it's a tough one to learn. Not much seat time the last few years, plus all the shortened sessions at that event, but he dropped 5 seconds every session and had his fastest lap on his last lap there. Three more seconds and he would have been the fastest 4 cylinder Triumph. Finished 7th in the Kastner Cup of 30 cars, picking up 7 places on the first lap and had a good battle with a GT6 and Jerry Barker in his Herald.

Kyle's dad was a long time customer of Dick's, so he's known him since he was 6yo.

We kept yelling at him to get back in his chair as we worked on the car. His response was "being a car owner ain't all that bad". laugh

This is pretty cool...

Below: Kyle leading a Super 7 at NJMP this past weekend in the same car. NJMP is ~10 miles from the old Vineland Speedway and its spiritual successor.

Here is Dick at PittRace a month ago

At 85, he's very happy just being out there and seeing old friends at the races. Having started his racing career in 1956, I don't he has anything left to prove. smile

I'll also add VRG threw on an awesome event! I believe ~210 cars were registered. The SCCA Majors the week before had I think it's best turnout in a while and was at 230. Big 30+ car fields, what's not to like?

First vintage race on Thunderbolt since SVRA 2011, so it was a new track for a lot of the VRG clan! Friday's weather didn't help crazy
